A0 copy shop files print your whole pattern on one or two huge sheets, so there's nothing to tape together. The trade-off is handling: large sheets need tracing tools, weights that hold them flat, and somewhere to store them without creases.

From downloaded file to a traced, ready-to-cut pattern in five steps.

Pick the A0 or copy shop file
Open the pattern download and choose the file labelled A0, copy shop or large format. Never send the print-at-home tiled file to a plotter.

Choose a print service
Use a local print or blueprint shop, an architecture copy centre, or a mail-order A0 service. Mail order usually arrives rolled rather than folded.

Specify 100% scale
Tell them to print at 100% with fit-to-page and any scaling turned off, on plain plotter bond paper.

Check the test square
When the sheet arrives, measure the printed test square with a ruler. If it is off, the print was scaled and needs reprinting.

Trace your size and store the original
Trace your size onto tracing paper so the printed sheet survives, then roll both into a storage tube rather than folding them.

841 by 1189 millimetres, which is about 33 by 47 inches. In the US, the closest common plotter size is 36 inch wide roll paper.
How do I stop the print shop scaling my pattern?
Ask explicitly for 100% scale with no fit-to-page, then measure the test square on the printed sheet before you cut anything.
Is A0 cheaper than printing at home?
Usually yes for a full garment. A dress pattern can run 40 or more letter sheets of paper and ink, plus an hour of taping.
How much does A0 pattern printing cost?

What paper should A0 patterns be printed on?
Standard 20lb plotter bond paper is ideal — cheap, opaque enough to trace through with tracing paper on top, and it folds without tearing.
Can I print A0 patterns at home?
Only with a wide-format plotter. A normal home printer cannot take paper that size, which is exactly why designers include the tiled print-at-home file as well.
