Most free pattern lists are sorted by designer. That's fine if you're browsing, but frustrating when you already know you want a jacket. This page is sorted by what you want to make. Each section lists free patterns we opened on their own pages on October 19, 2026, and links to our longer checked lists where we have one.

Free patterns move. Compared with our October 4 check:

• Megan Nielsen's Veronika skirt and Acacia underwear now show a price in the shop and are free only with a newsletter code.
• Closet Core "Crew" patterns can show $0 but need the paid Crew membership, so we don't count them.
• Sinclair Patterns' free collection page is gone, and its retired $0 patterns were unavailable.
• Tilly and the Buttons' free page has add-ons, an eye mask and slipper boots, but no full free garment.

The more free patterns you collect, the harder they are to find again. Sewist Studio is a free digital sewing room: add your PDFs to a pattern library and tag them by garment type, size range and designer, so "free jacket pattern in my size" is a search, not a hunt through your Downloads folder.
